Diana Ladyshewsky

Diana Ladyshewsky’s lifelong bond with horses runs far deeper than skill or technique. It’s rooted in resilience, healing, and quiet understanding. From her earliest memories, she felt at home among these majestic animals, often finding comfort in their presence during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Her deep connection to horses began as a child, spending peaceful hours beside them at her family’s cottage. After losing her father at a young age and navigating the complexities of early motherhood, horses remained a grounding force, offering her solace, purpose, and a silent kind of wisdom.

Over time, Diana discovered that her grandfather had also been a horse trainer, a revelation that confirmed the intuitive connection she had always felt. Her approach to horsemanship emphasizes empathy, energy, and respect. She believes that a true partnership with a horse begins from the ground long before the saddle. Her work encourages slowing down, letting go of ego, and prioritizing trust-building through groundwork and presence.

Diana is certified in the Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) program, further deepening her passion for equine-assisted self-discovery. She shares her insights through writing, workshops, and intimate training sessions that focus on helping others connect with horses on an emotional and energetic level, not just a physical one.

Outside of her equine practice, Diana is also a lifelong artist and a former hair designer in the film industry, where she spent over 40 years. Through painting, she explores emotion and inner reflection, often inspired by her life with animals and the natural world.

Today, Diana lives in the scenic hills of Singhampton, Ontario, with her partner Alan, ten horses, two dogs, and two cats. Her days are filled with quiet moments in the pasture, the hum of creative energy in her studio, and a continued desire to learn, share, and grow alongside the animals that have taught her so much.

Through her writing and her life’s work, Diana invites readers to slow down, be present, and rediscover the beauty of connection, both with themselves and with the animals who walk beside them.
